愛貓大叔：想成立基金會租空屋，便宜轉租給願意養貓的年輕人

「我餵貓六、七年了，每天在三個地方餵食。我看著牠們吃，確定牠們吃飽了、把碗收走才離開。這是我最快樂的事。
「有人罵我、有人踹翻貓碗、找警察，還有人把我告上法院，我都奉陪。我出門也帶狗罐頭，有次遠遠看到一隻被丟掉的狗，牠慢慢朝我走來，卻殺出一個拿著棍子的老翁要打牠。我阻止老翁，狗卻跑遠了。
「羅斯福路另一頭，有許多店家養貓招攬客人。有的養了卻不管貓有沒有吃，我也幫忙餵；有間店把貓關在地下室，讓牠抓老鼠。最惡劣的是一間麵店，搬走了卻把貓棄養在這，結果貓被車撞死...。
「我早期投資房地產，賺了一些錢。我曾想在山上找塊地養貓，但我最近有新想法：我想成立基金會租空屋，整理後再以幫忙養貓為條件，便宜轉租給年輕人。
「房東收到租金、年輕人便宜租屋，貓咪有家可歸。」
「去年318，我送外套、蘋果去支持。說到蘋果啊，我年輕時打工一天賺20塊，一顆蘋果就要13塊，只有某大企業可進口；以前不能進『匪貨』，但我家那邊的大紡織廠，卻有來自廣東的原料。只因他們和黨關係密切，就能享有特權。
「念書時，學校教官也說入黨好處多，但我不喜歡不公平，所以拒絕入黨。也因此，後來我雖然擔任系上幹部，卻無法和別的幹部一起參觀十大建設。誰知道，我同學他們從蘇澳港出海卻遇上大風浪翻船遇害、整艘船死了好多人，教育部長還因此下台...。我也不知道應該做何感想。」

“I have been feeding feral cats for 6 or 7 years. I have three different spots to go every day. I always watch them eat and make sure they are full. And then I take back the bowls and leave. It makes me happy.
“Some people cursed me, some kicked the cats’ bowls over, and some even asked the police to come over. Someone even sued me for feeding the cats. I always confront them and never cower. I also bring dog food with me. I once saw an abandoned dog coming slowly towards me. An old man suddenly rushed out, with a stick in his hand, trying to hit the dog. I went up to stop the man, but the dog had run away.
“In the neighborhood across Roosevelt Road, many stores keep pet cats, trying to ‘beckon’ more customers. Some might just keep them around and never care about the cats. I gave food to those cats, too. A store locked their cat in the basement to catch mice. Another noodles store moved out of the neighborhood but left their cat here. Later, the cat was killed in a car accident…
“I had invested in real estate and earned some money. I thought about buying land in the mountain and take care of cats there. But I’ve got a new idea recently. I want to establish a foundation. We’ll rent some empty apartments, refurbish them and keep the cats in the rooms. We’ll then re-rent at lower price to young tenants and they have to take care of their roommates, the cats.
“The landlords get the money, young people get the lower rent and the cats get homes."
“I sent coats and apples to the occupied parliament in 318 movement last year. Speaking of apples, an apple cost 13 NTD when I was young and I could only make 20 NTD per day from my part-time job. And only one big company got the privilege to import apples. It was a time that products made in China were not eligible, but a textile factory near my home had materials from Guangdong. These people had connection with the party and that’s why they had the privileges.
“When I was in college, the military educators always encouraged us to join the party. They offered benefits. But I don’t like unfairness and refused. That’s why I couldn’t join my fellow student leaders to the tour of Ten Major Construction Projects. My schoolmates went for the tour and they sailed from Suao Port. They were shipwrecked and many people killed. The minister of education even stepped down for this…. And I don’t know what am I supposed to feel about this tragedy."
